Dear Member,

It’s that time of year again for USFA renewals. The new year begins on the first of July 2008 and it is highly preferable to have most renewable members financial by that months end. To simplify the membership process several changes have been implemented:

• New Membership Form – A new form has been designed to make it easier for you to fill out. The ‘box’ format is to encourage printing which in turn will make the entries more legible. If you require extra forms please go to the USFA website - usfa.com.au

• Direct Deposit – You can now pay via direct deposit straight into the USFA account – see the membership form or contact me if clarification is needed. Make sure you identify the payment for receipting purposes.

• Five Year Memberships – If it is a hassle to go through this process each year, members can now join for five years and save about 10% at the same time! If juniors take out a five year membership it will remain valid for the five years even when the go to the seniors age bracket.

• Credit Card Payment – As the age of the cheque seems to be passing members now have the opportunity to pay by MasterCard or Visa. This is especially applicable for our younger members. All that has to be done is for the members to fill in the form with the credit card number and expiration date and post back to

If paying by credit card the form can be completed and sent online to memberships@usfa.com.au. Credit card numbers are highly confidential and are disposed of securely.

• Membership Card Postage – Whether you are a Club member or an independent diver your membership card will be posted out to the address stated on your application form so please make sure all entries are legible. If your membership card is lost a new one can be arranged at a cost of $5 - contact the membership officer.

• Sliding Scale - introduced for new members who may be disadvantaged by having to pay full membership for only a part year. The year is broken up into four 'seasons', its easy and fairer now for new members. Please note that a member has to be unfinancial for at least TWO years before the sliding scale applies. If you are not sure, contact the membership officer to check your status before joining at memberships@usfa.com.au

It is important that you become a member as your membership fees goes toward the battle for spearfisherman all over NSW, without your support the USFA would be very limited in it's ability to manage the interests of NSW spearfishermen, marine parks, legislation, lock outs, Fisheries etc. JOIN NOW!!!

Just remember that to compete all divers need to be USFA/AUF financial and divers not meeting this criteria will face possible disqualification.
